The Oregon Chapter hires a lobbyist each session to represent Social Work in Salem.
The main focus of NASW’s Salem lobbyist is promoting NASW’s values for safe and secure families and children. These values are about compassionate and adequate access to mental health services for all who are in need and funding social services and human services programs. The issues may also be regulatory in nature such as licensure or other practice related issues
The NASW lobby program keeps a close eye on proposed legislation and brings a voice in Salem for those who most often cannot speak for themselves. And, NASW helps to educate legislators about the plight of those in need of services.
NASW cannot do this important work without YOUR help! We need to raise funds each year to make this program possible and it cannot be done without your support. Please donate an amount that is significant to you. That amount might be the cost of a dinner out or a month of daily lattes. Please send the attached card along with your donation of $100, $75, $50 or $25. Or you may give a monthly donation of $25, $20, $15 or $10 to assist in sustaining and stabilizing the funding for this very important program.
