Private Practice Handbook
The Private Practice Handbook is in the process of being updated. We hope to have it finished and available Fall of 2007.
The Oregon Chapter Office of NASW is making the Private Practice Handbook available to its members and the social work community. It provides a breadth of information and resources for the experienced clinician as well as for those starting up a private practice. It includes information specific to Oregon about every aspect of clinical practice form legal and ethical issues to business planning and management. On-going consultation on all these matters should be part of everyone's practice and is available to members through the Chapter office.
We want to extend our thanks to Massachusetts NASW, their newsletter FOCUS and National for making available a variety of articles for general use and publication. We have noted these contributions with an asterisk on the index page.
Membership in NASW keeps us current on changes affecting our practices through the NASW news, NEXUS, informational mailings, regional get togethers and discussions in the Private Practice Committee. Membership also funds the Oregon chapter whose staff works long hours to advocate clinical social workers, support committee efforts, provide conferences for professional development and education, monitoring activities and lobbying in the legislature and supporting practitioners in being able to continue to serve clients in a variety of ways.
Our professional strength is a collective as well as individual effort. We urge you to support NASW with your membership and participation in committees or activities that are of interest to you.
The Private Practice Handbook subcommittee: Susan Pease Banitt, LCSW and Kayla Mary Leopold, LCSW.
