Thirst for diversity: the deep wish to learn about people
as a way to communicate respect, and in an inceasingly intermingled world, out of necessity, like breathing.
Those with this "thirst for diversity"
create "human bridges linking cultures,
preventing us from falling too deeply into the morass of
sameness
and self-congratulation.
They teach us to encounter the 'other'
and to allow its different tastes to flavor our own more limited existence." To engage in each others' lives beyond just living next door.
